Senior Controls Specialist - Innsbrook Nuclear Engineering

Job Summary

The Nuclear Spent Fuel (NSF) group is responsible for dry storage hardware procurement and project management activities required to support the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation operations at each of Dominion Energy’s nuclear power stations. 

The Senior Project Controls Specialist will provide relevant, reliable, and timely information to assist in managing numerous major Capital and Expense projects within the group.  This job requires planning, budgeting, and cost tracking for the procurement of spent fuel storage system components and supporting services.  Other duties include processing of invoice payments, monitoring cash flows, and initiating changes to approved budget plans.   

Job Responsibilities include the following:

  • Preparing project budgets and cost reports
  • Preparing and updating project cost estimates and cash flows
  • Completing Funding Review Board forms and assisting with approvals
  • Maintaining charge codes and payment schedules, and monitoring project costs
  • Invoice tracking and payment processing in SAP
  • Evaluating commercial proposals for new dry fuel storage systems and services
  • Assisting with preparation of Department of Energy settlement claims for dry fuel storage costs
  • Reviewing Decommissioning Funding Plans and other long-term budget strategies
  • Conducting meetings with contractors and other company personnel on cost control matters
  • Occasional presentations to management and travel is required
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Finance or Accounting degree preferred)

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in cost accounting and project controls.  Experience with budgeting and capital expenditure planning, tracking, and approval is required.  Must be experienced with Microsoft Excel. SAP software experience strongly preferred.  Working knowledge of the Spent Fuel/DOE settlement claim process, CAPS/Capital Living Plan and Microsoft Project is a plus. 

Strong communication skills (both oral and written), attention to detail, teamwork, and analytical and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.
