We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Leads the full project management lifecycle for assigned Dominion Energy physical security projects across the Electric Transmission footprint, including oversight of applicable budgets, schedules, resources, risks, and stakeholder coordination, while ensuring Security’s involvement throughout planning, development, construction, and operational phases.

Specific job responsibilities include

  • Ensures project results meet quality, timeline, and budget requirements by monitoring performance, recommending schedule, cost, or resource adjustments, securing required resources, and providing timely, accurate status updates to management and internal and external stakeholders using established processes and tools. 
  • Works closely with business unit leadership, project management groups, engineering, construction, operations, IT, CIS, contractors, and other partners to support effective execution.
  • Conducts security and vulnerability assessments for assigned facilities and projects, provides access control measures related to key/padlock monitering and issuance, provides government access services to personnel, coordinates compliance initiatives supporting infrastructure protection strategies, and develops and manages specific security plans, policies, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and established standards.
  • Leads the planning and execution of physical security projects with individual project values up to $20M.
  • Ensures security technology integration complies with applicable standards and regulations, supports the implementation and application of established physical security standards, specifications, and risk assessments in coordination with senior staff and governance bodies, and assists in developing countermeasure strategies in response to credible threat information.
  • Reviews security intelligence and elevates findings and recommendations as appropriate, develops and participates in security drills and exercises, serves as a point of contact with law enforcement and government agencies during routine operations, drills, inspections, or incidents, participates in project open houses and supports personnel at events.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5+ years of experience in project management, security, compliance, engineering, construction or a related field.  Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.  A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year.

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience

  • Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices with guidance 
  • Strong planning, project coordination, and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary security risk assessment methodologies and standards
  • Experience with physical security technologies including access control, intrusion detection, visitor identification, and monitoring systems
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills in a security environment
  • Ability to lead project teams and influence stakeholders
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing
  • Resource management skills and proficiency with standard software tools
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and make sound decisions within defined authority
  • Performs additional security support activities as needed based on business and operational requirements
  • Ability to travel to facilities and construction sites to perform inspections and site walkdowns

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:  Bachelor
