Job Summary
The Manager-Nuclear Engineering Corp (CFAM) is responsible to provide strategic oversight, governance and leadership to drive station performance in the assigned functional area and is accountable for performance outcomes that include station efficiencies and reliability improvement.. Responsibilities include systematically overseeing and routinely evaluating station management performance. Routine responsibilities also include frequent site visits, participation on Station Management Review Meetings (MRMs) elsewhere in the industry. Additional responsibilities include representing Dominion with INPO and other industry groups that evaluate Dominion performance and provide industry leadership in support of industry performance improvement. This role also may supervise corporate staff and/or a matrixed organization that provides technical assistance in support of these responsibilities. The Manager-Nuclear Engineering Corp (CFAM) is a key dedicated member of the Nuclear Fleet Peer Group Governance and Oversight team supporting the Engineering Peer Group. . Responsible for the review, analysis and integration of plant processes, procedures, Engineering protocols and practices, and work plans to develop a consistent and integrated standard plant administrative process/procedure platform. Ensures the inclusion of industry best practices in peer group products. Responsible for leading the governance of fleet Engineering from a position of credibility and influence to achieve industry best practices across the Dominion nuclear fleet. The Engineering CFAM has the following duties: Works directly with the peer group executive leader and chair to establish fleet-wide actions and priorities. Work closely with each Working Group to ensure time is efficiently used and that Industry-Best PLUS deliverables are produced for Peer Group approval in a timely manner.. Keep abreast of industry best performers and obtain useful information for their Peer Group. Continually assess industry initiatives and standards that are constantly evolving; research internal assessments, reports, observations to sift site-specific deficiencies from fleet-wide shortfall; assess INPO evaluations and NRC reports and research other industry activities (technical, safety, organizational, etc.) for potential opportunities to operate more safely, reliably and efficiently. Identify benchmarking and self-assessment opportunities and ensure personnel take advantage of them in support of Nuclear and Peer Group priorities. Assist peer group members with the training and orientation of their assigned working groups and to ensure barriers are overcome in the development and approval of Industry-Best PLUS deliverables. Intimately involved with station personnel in supporting and assisting implementation and working with them to produce change management plans. Conducts site visits for identification of implementation issues with the station and determine remediation action if appropriate to improve the stations implementation. Create all peer group plans and activities. Maintain and update the Peer Group list of initiative priorities consistent with Nuclear business priorities and annual gap analysis. Ensure agendas and materials needed for Peer Group meetings are prepared and distributed in a timely manner and that Peer Group decisions and assigned actions are documented and completed. Supports the overall Peer Group processes including coordinating and documenting standard peer group status and metrics.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
-8-10+ years of supervisory/management level experience in applied engineering at a nuclear facility.
-Must be experienced, knowledgeable, and capable of leading from a position of influence and support.
-Ability to work closely with all levels of the Peer Group Governance structure.
-Working knowledge of the nuclear industry, processes and procedures.
-Expertise in Engineering.
-Strong organizational and project management skills.
-Ability to review, analyze and compile complex technical information and develop recommendations for management.
-Solid team player with an ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
-Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Disciplines: Engineering, Engineering Technology
