Job Summary

The Manager, Nuclear Performance Improvement (CFAM) (“PI CFAM”) is responsible for driving the performance improvement strategy for the fleet. This role provides strategic oversight, governance and leadership through systematic oversight and evaluation of station and fleet performance. The PI CFAM is also accountable for performance outcomes that include station efficiencies, reliability improvement and overall leadership and team effectiveness.  The role is integral to ensuring that our organizational practices align with our operational objectives and support the continuous improvement of our fleet’s performance.

 

The PI CFAM will lead the Performance Improvement personnel at Corporate, and they are a key, dedicated member of the Nuclear Fleet Peer Group Governance and Oversight team supporting the Performance Improvement Peer teams. This role will provide leadership for industry performance improvement initiatives to include:

 

  • For the Performance Improvement functional area, ensuring our PI programs at the station and the fleet level are robust, reflect industry best practices and support continuous improvement
  • The review, analysis and integration of plant processes, procedures and work plans to develop a consistent and integrated standard plant administrative process / procedure platform
  • Leading the governance of fleet Performance Improvement from a position of credibility and influence to achieve industry best practices across the Dominion Energy nuclear fleet
  • Leading the Performance Improvement Peer Teams, collaborating with the Peer Group's Executive Sponsors to establish fleet-wide actions and priorities to achieve industry best performance
  • Working with the Peer Teams to create and update functional area excellence plans and maintain a list of strategic and tactical priorities
  • Identifying benchmarking and self-assessment opportunities, driving actions to implementation and integrating industry best practices
  • Assessing industry standards and internal evaluations to identify opportunities for safer, more reliable and efficient operations
  • Supporting training and orientation for peer group members, coordinating peer group processes and overcoming barriers to implementing best practices
  • Representing Dominion Energy at industry groups.

 

In all aspect of their role, the PI CFAM is expected to establish and nurture productive relationships with a wide variety of partners and stakeholders.  Further, they will need to communicate with clarity and consistency to foster a team culture committed to continuous improvement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

 

  • 8+ years of supervisory/management level experience in performance improvement or a technical functional area within the nuclear industry
  • Experienced, knowledgeable, and capable of leading from a position of influence and support
  • Ability to work closely with all levels of the Peer Group Governance structure
  • Working knowledge of the nuclear industry, processes and procedures
  • Broad expertise in nuclear performance improvement, including Corrective Action Program management
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proven ability to review, analyze and compile complex technical information and develop recommendations for leadership
  • Effective team player with an ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred Candidates will also possess:

  • 2+ years of experience directly managing teams
  • Hold or previously held SRO License/Certificate
  • Prior working experience with INPO

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor 

Preferred Discipline(s): Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields
