Job Summary

Dominion Energy, Innsbrook, is currently seeking an intern for Summer 2026 in the Inservice Inspection (ISI) Engineering group. The intern will be actively engaged in performing engineering work across a diverse field of technical experts.

The ISI group is part of the Fleet Programs and Components organization in the Nuclear Design Engineering & Programs department. The team has responsibility for the nuclear fleet (North Anna Power Station, Surry Power Station, Millstone Power Station, and VC Summer Power Station) for governance, oversight, support, and performance scope for the ISI and Nondestructive Examination technical programs.

 

The intern will work with engineers to implement the ISI Program.  The ISI Program applies to examination, testing, and inspection of ASME Code Class 1, 2, and 3 components and their supports. The program documents and implements the requirements of ASME Code Section XI, Rules for Inservice Inspection of Nuclear Power Plant Components, Subsections IWA, IWB, IWC, IWD, IWE, IWF, and IWL in accordance with 10 CFR 50.55a. The ISI Program includes augmented inspections that fulfill 10CFR50.55a requirements and site-specific commitments.

 

Project assignments will be made based on completed coursework.  Tasks will be mentored by experienced engineers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products is desired. Proficiency is MS Excel is preferred.  
  • Knowledge of engineering software applications is preferred. 
  • An inquisitive nature, an ability to follow written and verbal directions, and strong professional ethics. 
  • Solid engineering skills, commensurate with grade level.  
  • Ability to maintain a professional orientation, communicate effectively in both written and oral forms, and work effectively in a team and independently under own initiative. 
  • Must be a student in an Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Materials, etc.)  at an ABET-accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Must be a freshman, sophomore, or junior in standing with graduation planned for December 2027 or later.
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher 

Education Requirements

  • Must be a student enrolled in an Engineering Program majoring in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Materials at an ABET-accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Must have a graduation date of Fall 2027 or later.
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
