Job Summary
The intern will focus on cyber security initiatives and the Cyber Compliance Monitoring Program. The internship will be on-site and based out of our Innsbrook office in Glen Allen, VA.
You will:

Work under the direction of experienced team members to assist with management of Transmission and related business unit asset information and policies throughout all stages of the asset lifecycle, including scheduling, tracking, and documentation of Electric Transmission construction, maintenance, and compliance activities.

Support Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity initiatives by assisting with asset inventory validation, cybersecurity monitoring activities, vulnerability management efforts, and compliance-related data analysis.

Assess procedural adherence and operational risks by evaluating issues and/or gaps in identified department processes and recommending opportunities for improvement.

Assist with Cyber Compliance Monitoring Program activities, including evidence collection, documentation review, audit preparation, and compliance reporting associated with regulatory and corporate requirements.

Identify and analyze processes to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of asset information across multiple platforms, databases, and business systems.

Participate in cybersecurity investigations and operational reviews by researching asset information, reviewing system logs, and supporting root cause analysis efforts when applicable.

Assist with resolving data collection issues associated with deployed technologies, including handheld computers, monitoring platforms, and software applications supporting field inspection and asset management activities.

Analyze engineering documents, network diagrams, asset records, and technical configurations to verify system designs, asset relationships, and operational requirements.

Support vulnerability tracking and remediation efforts by reviewing security advisories, validating impacted assets, and assisting with documentation of mitigation activities.

Perform analyses of asset information and historical records in support of engineering studies, cybersecurity initiatives, compliance programs, risk assessments, and audit support documentation.

Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate asset management, operational, cybersecurity, and compliance metrics to internal stakeholders.

Collaborate with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, compliance, and field personnel to gain an understanding of how critical infrastructure assets are managed, monitored, and protected.

Gain exposure to industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to electric utility operations, operational technology (OT), cyber security, and critical infrastructure protection.

Education Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
- Must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Students must be working towards a bachelor’s degree with an anticipated graduation of Spring 2029.

The hourly rate listed is the rate we anticipate paying for this position. If a range is listed, the actual hourly rate offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's degree type, academic major, and/or school classification (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior).
