Job Summary

This position will assist in the coordination of and monitor forestry activities to include clearing new corridors, maintenance / expansion of existing corridors and trimming / removal of hazard trees to meet project specifications and regulatory compliance requirements.

 

Other Job duties include:

 

  • Assists in the coordination of and monitors forestry activities to include clearing new corridors, maintenance / expansion of existing corridors and trimming / removal of hazard trees to meet project specifications and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Provides field support to and monitors the installation of erosion & sediment controls per the SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Contact and communicate instructions to contract forestry crews.
  • Inspect the completed work of contract danger tree / clearing crews, environmental and herbicide application contractors.
  • Measure line clearances with laser range finder or clinometers.
  • Measure right of way width to catalog encroaching vegetation.
  • Discuss and explain upcoming construction projects, vegetation management work to property ownersalong transmission lines and respond to their inquires while resolving any issues / complaints.
  • Monitor contract forestry crews for productivity and compliance with OSHA standards, safety rules and all jurisdictional permits.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Should enjoy working outdoors. Previous outdoor experience is required.

Candidates should be self motivated.

Ability to work with a wide variety of people (crews and customers)

 

Student must be working towards completing a Bachelor's degree in Forest Industries or Forestry Management

Student must have an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2025 or Spring 2024. 

Must have a 3.0 GPA or greater

Must have a valid driver's license and able to operate a company vehicle.
