Job Summary

 

Nuclear Power has played an important role in meeting the world’s electrical energy needs for 50+ years.  With power demand rising dramatically in the decades ahead, Nuclear Power will be indispensable in meeting the concurrent challenges of Reliability and Affordability while also limiting air pollution. 

 

To help ensure that its four nuclear power stations are ready to meet the challenges ahead, Dominion Energy is investing hundreds of millions of dollars to update and upgrade key equipment at each site.  These improvements are generally large in scale and complexity and require exceptional project management to be implemented with excellence.  To support these ongoing efforts, Dominion Energy’s Nuclear Project Team is actively seeking an experienced Generation Project Manager (“PM”).

 

The PM will be primarily focused on the planning and execution of fleet-level strategic nuclear projects supporting long-term generation strategy.  This work will include:

 

  • early-phase scope development
  • cost estimating
  • scheduling
  • risk management reviews
  • regulatory review
  • contract review and negotiation
  • data management and analysis
  • reporting to stakeholders including executive leadership
  • vendor management
  • creation of implementation of project management tools and technology

 

 

The PM will be responsible for implementing project processes, policies, protocols, and best practices in a disciplined manner to help improve fleetwide performance and consistency. 

 

  

In all aspects of their role, the PM will be expected to establish and nurture productive relationships with stakeholders from across the organization.  These partners will include engineering, licensing, operations, procurement and external vendors.        

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

 

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

 

  • Seven (7) or more years of work experience related to the fields of construction, engineering, business management, or project management (with a preferred Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or Engineering Technology)
  • In lieu of the preferred Bachelor's degree, a candidate may substitute a related Associate's degree and nine (9) or more years of work experience related to the fields of construction, engineering, business management, or project management
  • In lieu of the preferred Bachelor’s degree, a candidate may substitute a High School diploma/GED and eleven (11) or more years of work experience related to the fields of construction, engineering, business management, or project management
  • Three (3) or more years of demonstrated experience directly related to project management
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing project performance to ensure results meet project requirements and schedules
  • Strong team building skills, demonstrated skill and ability in effectively leading teams to achieve project goals and milestones
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities
  • Ability to coordinate the resolution of technical problems and implement changes
  • Ability to work and develop rapport with all levels of management and staff
  • Ability to represent the project and the company in public forums



Preferred Candidates will also possess:

 

  • Prior experience in the nuclear power industry

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

 

  • Bachelor

 

Preferred Disciplines: Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or Engineering Technology

 

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above
