Job Summary
Innsbrook Nuclear Engineering & Fuel is currently seeking an Engineering Technical Specialist III to fill a position in the Corporate Materials & Inspections group, where the successful candidate will be actively engaged in ownership of the Underground Pipe & Tank Inspection (UPTI) program. This role will develop and prioritize needed inspection, evaluation, and repair scope of critical piping to ensure in-scope piping is maintained with reasonable assurance of their continued structural and leakage integrity. Collaborative work with on-site staff in preparation, execution, and analysis of planned work is critical to the success of this role. The hired individual will join the Materials & Inspections team and be the primary lead, providing support to all sites in the nuclear fleet.
The Materials and Inspections group is part of the Fleet Programs and Components (FP&C) organization in the Nuclear Engineering Fleet Design Engineering and Programs department. The team has responsibility for the nuclear fleet (North Anna Power Station, Surry Power Station, Millstone Power Station, and VC Summer Power Station) for governance, oversight, support, and performance scope for the following technical programs Flow Accelerated Corrosion, Steam Generators, Reactor Vessel Internals, Reactor Vessel Integrity, Thermal Fatigue, Alloy 600, Boric Acid Corrosion Control, Welding, ASME Section XI, Repair/ Replacement, Materials Laboratory, and Underground Piping and Tank Integrity.
This is a fleet support role, provided from the corporate office situated at Dominion's Innsbrook Technical Center in the west end of Richmond, VA. The individual in this role will work alongside the Materials and Inspections team and will be responsible for performing other duties as requested or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
To be qualified for the Engineering Technical Specialist III, one must meeting the following minimum requirements:
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Candidates must be self-directed, multi-task oriented, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and demonstrate excellent analytical, creative problem solving, customer focus and leadership skills. Proficiency with general office (e.g., MS Office) and engineering application personal computer software is required.
Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications.

In-depth knowledge of engineering principals, theories and practices. Ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline. Ability to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline. Strong oral, written and graphical communication skills including technical writing; ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature. Ability to conduct standard tests, measurements and experiments. Ability to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes. Ability to function effectively independently and as a member on a technical team. Excellent organization and project management skills. Excellent personal computer skills including knowledge of applicable software programs.
Education Requirements
In order to be a titled Engineering Technical Specialist, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- 4-year Engineering Technology degree or 4-year degree in Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or
- 4-year degree in Physics, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Engineering or other technical related discipline; or
- 4-year non-technical degree and post-graduate degree in Engineering Technology or Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred degree
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
NACE/AMPP/API certifications as applicable will be preferred.
