We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary
The Communications Consultant role communicates the need and benefit of large, complex, electric infrastructure projects to internal and external stakeholders using a variety of communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities are crafting stakeholder communications (presentations, direct mail, collateral, visuals, digital content, etc.) and stakeholder engagement plans to meaningfully involve stakeholders in project development, keeping customers and others fully informed during project planning. In addition, this role requires presenting and speaking confidently and knowledgeably in public forums, being a designated spokesperson and remaining calm and composed during intense public discussions.
What you will do:
•Lead communications and stakeholder management activities, serving as the company spokesperson for electric transmission projects and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
•Communicate project impacts and benefits using various strategies and assist in preparing media releases and customer communications.
•Participate in public workshops, design and host community meetings and other events, and represent the company to industry groups and government bodies.
•Collaborate with internal departments to present a unified strategy for Dominion. Develop strategic solutions, maintain business partnerships, and gather intelligence to inform communication strategies. Additionally, assist with the development and implementation of legislative actions and policy strategies.
•Counsel project teams and upper management on issues management strategies and communications approaches to address project risks while enhancing and protecting company reputation.
•Establish and facilitate discussions with community advisory groups, among others, to assess and incorporate request for project adjustments.
•Research, analyze, and be knowledgeable on energy policy and legislative activities that affects the development of electric transmission projects and general Company business activities.
•Testify and communicate long term transmission plans with various jurisdictional authorities, such as planning commissions, city councils, board of supervisors, and economic development entities
•Performs additional duties as required, which are reasonably within the scope of the job
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
•7-8+ years of directly related experience.
•Highly skilled in the development and implementation of strategic plans for effective communications with communities, key account customers, influential stakeholder groups, and political officials
•Demonstrated expertise in communications, issues management, government, and public policy
•Demonstrated ability of preparing effective presentations and written documents
•Highly skilled in public speaking in all forums, negotiating and developing rapport with an audience.
•Strong ability to define problems, collect data and draw conclusions
•Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage contractor resources effectively
•Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and schedules.
Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Disciplines: Government Relations, Communications, Political Science, English, or a similar field
Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above
