Financial Controls Specialist

Job Summary

Dominion Energy seeks a Controls Specialist for the Nuclear business unit’s Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) Program group at the Innsbrook Technical Center.


Responsbilities will include:

Develop, implement and coordinate budgeting, planning, forecasting and other cost controls tasks for SLR’s large capital projects.

Develop and review project estimates.

Develop and maintain project cost plans based on approved estimates and schedules.

Monitor actual project cost and/or work status data to ensure projects proceed on schedule and within budget and provide status reports to management.

Prepare budgets and analyze monthly cost reports.

May be required to provide contract administration such as preparing purchase order requisitions, validating invoices, preparing accruals and working with vendors to resolve issues.  

Conduct meetings with internal and external stakeholders on control matters. 

Evaluate project field and scope changes for impact on cost and/or schedule and update project budgets.

Interface and coordinate with other corporate and station stakeholders.

Implement control policy and procedures. 

Identify and implement better work alternatives and business processes.

Other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

•A minimum of an Associate degree plus 3 years of cost, finance, or estimating experience.  Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.  Bachelor degree is a plus.

(A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered as one year towards the qualifications.)

• Proficient in Excel and SAP (or similar software)

• Ability to forecast and identify trends

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Self-starter that can make decisions independently

Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
