Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a Controls Specialist in the Construction group within the Electric Transmission division

  • Develop, implement and coordinate planning, estimating, and cost controls for Electric Transmission construction projects
  • Monitor actual project cost and/or work status data to ensure project is proceeding on schedule and within budget  
  • Prepare and analyze monthly cost reports 
  • Implement, evaluate, and monitor controls systems.  Conduct meetings with contractors and company personnel on cost control matters
  • Interface with other departments to coordinate and integrate support requirements on construction schedules
  • Evaluate project field and scope changes for impact on cost and/or schedule and update project budgets
  • Perform contract compliance review for all construction invoices
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of financial, budget, and/or project accounting experience with a preferred Bachelor’s Degree (Or 5+ years of financial, budget, and/or project accounting experience with an Associate Degree; Or 7+ years financial, budget, and/or project accounting experience with a High School diploma or equivalent)  Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications
  • Experience in the construction field and/or compliance is highly preferred
  • Advanced skills in Excell, Alteryx, and Tableau are highly preferred
  • Proficiently performs assignments having the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience needed to carry out all aspects of the job
  • Exercises independent judgment and decision-making in planning, organizing and conducting work assignments
  • May receive instructions and guidance on unusual or complex problems and knows when to get others involved
  • Effectively utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments
  • Identifies and eliminates unnecessary work and non-value added activities
  • Must be able to meet NERC qualifications
  • The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below. Military Service Members/Veterans ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3 with experience/education as defined above.

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education
