We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a strategic, analytically driven Category Management Consultant/Specialist to own and advance sourcing strategies for assigned categories, including nuclear craft support and large-scale construction procurements. This role operates at an enterprise level, serving as a trusted advisor to Business Unit and Supply Chain leadership by translating complex spend, labor, and market dynamics into clear, executive-ready insights and recommendations.
The individual will partner closely with SCM leadership, finance, sourcing specialists, and Power Generation stakeholders to shape long-term sourcing strategies that materially influence capital execution, cost structure, and risk profile across complex construction programs. Success in this role requires the ability to frame options and influence decision-making at the senior and executive level.
Key Responsibilities
This individual’s role will include, but is not limited to:
- Serve as a point of contact to senior and executive leadership, regularly presenting category strategies, labor cost drivers, sourcing options, and budget impact scenarios.
- Translate complex data, labor models, and market dynamics into concise executive narratives, clearly articulating risks, opportunities, and recommended courses of action.
- Support executive decision-making by developing scenario-based analyses, including cost, schedule, labor availability, and risk implications.
- Own category management for nuclear craft support, large-scale construction services, and EPC-related procurements, with responsibility for multi‑year strategy development and execution.
- Analyze and manage labor cost drivers, including base rates, overtime, incentives, per diem, and supplemental workforce premiums, to inform negotiations and strategy.
- Establish and deliver category savings and value targets, supported by total cost of ownership (TCO), labor analytics, and market intelligence.
- Lead highly complex sourcing events, including the development of negotiation strategies and executive-level recommendations on commercial and labor-related terms.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers, including direct engagement with supplier senior executives to align on performance, cost transparency, and long-term objectives.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
7+ years related experience.
3+ years of procurement experience in category assignments detailed as above (preferred).
Knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following:
- Strong understanding of business cost drivers.
- Hands-on understanding of business processes and objectives.
- Developing knowledge of assigned categories.
- Excellent project management skills, with ability to resolve problems and to remove barriers to success.
- Strong analytic toolset that will support the creation of financial targets, detailed analysis of spend data, and structure of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) models.
- Strong mentoring skills.
- Ability to navigate organization and influence decisions.
- Ability to develop and implement a structured, negotiation strategy.
Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
