We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary
The Associate Permit Specialist supports the siting and routing of electric transmission lines and substation facilities. This entry-level role assists in identifying potential routes and sites, preparing environmental assessments, and coordinating permitting activities under the guidance of senior staff. The Associate will help gather data, prepare documentation, and contribute to presentations for civic groups, property owners, and regulatory agencies. This role also supports financial and feasibility analyses to help identify cost-effective solutions and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
0 -2 years of related experience in utility siting, environmental permitting, or GIS analysis. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic public speaking and customer service abilities. Familiarity with GIS or graphic design software (e.g., ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator). Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from senior staff. Organizational and time management skills. Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Education Requirements
Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelors
Preferred discipline(s): Bachelor preferred in Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Studies or Policy, Geography, or a related field.
Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
