Job Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating all environmental compliance programs at Dominion Energy South Carolina’s (DESC) Wateree Generating Station in Eastover SC. Core job functions include maintenance and improvement of programs to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits, as well as conformance with corporate policies and procedures.
This position will be located at our Dominion Energy's Wateree Steam Plant in Eastover, SC.

Associate Environmental Compliance Coordinator
- Knowledge of the plant’s permits and compliance programs related to National Pollution Discharge Elimination Site (NPDES), Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA), drinking water, air, landfill, and stormwater.
- Assisting with sampling, profiling, and managing the plant’s hazardous, non-hazardous, and Universal waste.
- Gathering necessary information to complete for review required environmental regulatory and internal inspections and reports.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of training, inspection, and compliance processes to improve environmental performance.
- Assist during internal and external regulatory compliance inspections and audits.
- Assist with preparation of root cause analysis of environmental events to improve performance.
- Tracking and ensuring regulatory deadlines are met.
- This position is subject to being called out to support the plant in environmental emergencies, during outages, and is subject to after hours, weekend, and holiday work outdoors and in an industrial environment during these events.
Job Summary

- Serving as the subject matter expert for the plant’s hazardous, non-hazardous, and Universal waste.
- Developing and enhancing training, inspection, and compliance training and processes to improve environmental performance.
- Serving as the environmental subject matter expert during internal and external regulatory compliance inspections and audits.
- Leading teams in performing root cause analysis of environmental events.
- This position is subject to being called out to support the plant in environmental emergencies and during outages, and is subject to after hours, weekend, and holiday work outdoors and in an industrial environment during these events.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience
Associate Environmental Compliance Coordinator
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, Biology, Chemistry, or other science-related field, or an associate degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a High School diploma and at least 4 years of experience in a related field.
- A valid driver’s license and proficiency in the use of business computer applications to include Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) is required.
- The successful candidate must possess strong data analysis and technical writing skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong decision-making skills, and well-developed organizational skills.
- The successful candidate must be able to prioritize tasks effectively and contribute to the success of the organization collaboratively and individually as needs dictate.
Preferred experience includes:
- Familiarity with Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act (CWA), and Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) analytical methods, familiarity with CWA/NPDES
