Job Summary
Dominion Energy South Carolina: Wateree Steam Plant located in Eastover, South Carolina has an opening for a Mechanic Instrumentation & Controls Apprentice.
This position is responsible for assisting in maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment associates with an electric generating station including programmable logic controllers, VFD's, RTD’s, thermocouples, controllers, smart field devices, analytical transmitters and Emerson DCS controls. Participates in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns. Provides technical and hands on support during shutdowns. Provides hands on support to resolve instrument and electrical problems as they occur. The Power Plant I&C Mechanic Apprentice will also:

Pay for this position ranges from $31.78-$42.63 per hour based on experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):
- 2-4 years previous work experience in area of instrumentation and Control with working knowledge of Emerson Ovation Controls Technology is preferred.
- Requires and is subject to overtime and unscheduled callout work after hours, on weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to occasionally work outdoors and during inclement weather, standing for prolonged periods of time and some heavy lifting.
Education Requirements
Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) is required.
Preferred:
Associate Degree in Industrial Electrical Maintenance or Instrumentation and Control
