Job Summary

 

The Dominion Energy South Carolina, Inc. (DESC) Power Generation business unit is seeking an Environmental Compliance Coordinator/Sr. Environmental Compliance Coordinator to support generating station air compliance obligations. This position will be filled as either an Environmental Compliance Coordinator or a Senior Environmental Compliance Coordinator.  There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the selected candidates’ education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.  Core job functions include maintenance and continuous improvement of programs to ensure compliance with air regulations and permits, as well as conformance with corporate policies and procedures.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Performs as a Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) subject matter expert in support of plant systems, to include:  Mercury CEMS, Part 60/75 CEMS, Part 63/Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) Sorbent Trap Systems, and Continuous Opacity Monitoring Systems (COMS).
  • Supports various data analysis and reporting processes to include DESC’s quarterly Electronic Data Reports , MATS reports and Title V quarterly, semiannual, and annual reports.
  • Provides compliance monitoring and support to the generating facilities to promote and continually improve the compliance programs and processes, including CEMS data Quality Assurance reviews.
  • Writes and updates site-specific source testing plans and other air compliance related procedures.
  • Serves as a project coordinator for major emission monitoring system repairs, upgrades, and installation projects.
  • Performs advanced data analysis, trending, and technical writing tasks.  This position requires proficiency in the use of MS Excel and MS Word software as well as CEMS Data Acquisition and Handling Software.
  • Analyzes and interprets existing and new air related regulations and Title V permit conditions.
  • This position requires overtime, will be subject to call-outs, and can entail evening, weekend, and holiday work.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Senior Environmental Compliance Coordinator – This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, Biology, Chemistry, or other science-related field and at least 5 years of related experience, or an Associate Degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a High School and at least 9 years of experience in a related field.

Environmental Compliance Coordinator – This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, Biology, Chemistry, or other science-related field and at least 2 years of related experience, or an Associate Degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a High School and at least 6 years of experience in a related field.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for both roles include:

A valid driver’s license and proficiency in the use of business computer applications to include Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) is required.
The successful candidate must possess strong data analysis and technical writing skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong decision-making skills, and well developed organizational skills.
The successful candidate must be able to prioritize tasks effectively and contribute to the success of the organization collaboratively and individually as needs dictate.


Preferred experience for both roles include:  

Familiarity with, or be able to quickly learn the use of, CEMTEK KVB-Enertec's NetDAHS Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) Data Acquisition Handling Systems software.
Familiarity with, or be able to quickly learn the use of, the USEPA's Emissions Collection and Monitoring Plan System (ECMPS) and Central Data Exchange (CDX) online applications.
The ability to fulfill data analysis and trending requests which can occur with short or no notice.
Industry experience in power plant operations and associated emissions control and measuring technologies for fossil fuel-fired power generation facilities.

Education Requirements

 

Senior Environmental Compliance Coordinator – This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, Biology, Chemistry, or other science-related field and at least 5 years of related experience, or an Associate Degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a High School and at least 9 years of experience in a related field.

 

Environmental Compliance Coordinator – This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, Biology, Chemistry, or other science-related field and at least 2 years of related experience, or an Associate Degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a High School and at least 6 years of experience in a related field.
