Job Summary

Selected student(s) will gain actual business experience with designing Customer Information Systems and Websites. Will also gain experience working with business stakeholders to improve their busines processes and testing software/websites. Responsibilities include gathering business requirements and analyze technical solutions needed to implement software development and technology projects/programs. The work creates efficiencies and adds value for customers in operations.

Business Analysis:

  • Work with client area and information systems to analyze business problems to be resolved with automated systems.
  • Provide technical assistance to the project team to identify, evaluate, design and specify systems and procedures.
  • Defines business requirements and analyze project impacts.
  • Prepare scope documents, systems specifications and design recommendations for information system changes.
  • Facilitate and understand data capture and tracking requirements defined by the business to improve information and business processes.

System Testing:

  • Develop information systems test plan components and test scripts with client subject matter experts.
  • Coordinate client user testing.
  • Document and execute testing results.

You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to strategies, tools and programs that are used by major companies including Aplication Lifecycle Management, Agile, SQL, Clarity and SharePoint. Beyond the full-time summer assignment, there may be opportunities to extend the work relationship to 12-15 hours/week during the regular semester.



Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Must have strong computer knowledge and skills with demonstrated ability to learn and utilize Microsoft Office products and other software programs; must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be proficient in presentation of information and strong verbal and written communication skills; be able to work independently and as a team; must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned work location and have reliable transportation.

Basic Qualifications
  • Must be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Business Administration, Data Science, Information Systems Technology, Math or related field with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
