GIS Specialist - I

Job Summary

The GIS Specialist is responsible for editing GIS data in corporate databases and networks and for performing more complex analysis and edits on other datasets for a diverse customer base throughout the corporation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
  • Putting clear communication skills into good practice.
  • Work well in an extremely detail/task-oriented role.
  • Follow protocol while staying focused on performing repetitive tasks.
  • Work well independently, well with other individuals, and well within teams.
  • Be prepared to derive and propose unique solutions to complex problems. 
  • Experienced in the use of advanced Esri GIS edit tools, conducting spatial analysis, database manipulation, and project/data management.
  • A thorough understanding and proven experience in the use of most Esri GIS editing tools and concepts.
  • Experience editing geometric networks in a versioned SDE environment is a plus.
  • Experience in AutoCAD drafting is desired.
Education Requirements
  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED. Prefer a Certification in Information Technology, Geographical Information Systems or related field.
  • Preferred Experience: Completion of High School / GED and Certification in Geographical Information Systems (or related field) and 5 years of experience, OR Associate Degree in GIS and 2 years of experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in GIS and 1 year of experience.
