Job Summary

Geographic Information Systems(GIS) Software Engineer III or IV

 

Dominion Energy, located in Cayce, South Carolina is seeking a candidate to join a team that develops, delivers, and supports Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and applications for use in an enterprise environment.  This position will have level-appropriate responsibilities for system management and optimization of our server, database, and desktop GIS infrastructure.  The candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced team environment, be driven to provide world-class, scalable, reliable GIS platform systems that meet industry best practices and corporate standards.

The company relies heavily on our strong GIS group. It is a core technical team within Operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Qualificaitons include:

  • Enterprise System Management
    • Experience with Windows 2012/2016 Server and application configuration.
    • Web server (IIS), applications, and services administration experience.
    • Load balancing and scaling for performance optimization and high availability.
    • Related enterprise services, including networking, security and virtualiation.
    • Experience with Database Administration (Oracle, SQL Server) for configuration, security and data modeling.

 

Preference will be giving to candidates with experience with the following:

  • Deployment and administration of ArcGIS online or Portal based solutions.
  • Configuring and optimizing ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Configuring and optimizing ArcGIS PRO, APR, Utility Network.
  • Configuring and managing Map/Feature/Geoprocessing Services.
  • Configuring and optimizing ArcSDE (10.x and beyond), versioning and replicas, ArcFM Geodatabase Manager and ArcFM Process Framework.
  • ETL platforms such as FME and development of scripts/workbenches.

Basic Qualifications

Level of position will be determined based upon education and relevant work experience.

Software Engineer III & IV 

  • Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and 2 or more years of job-related experience or
  • An associate degree from an accredited university or college and 6 or more years of job-related experience or
  • A high school diploma or GED accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or one of the entities recognized by the U. S. Dept. of Education and 10 or more years of job-related experience or
  • Successful completion of a computer-related curriculum and at least 3 years of practical experience at Dominion Energy (Southern Energy Group) with part of the 3 years working as a co-op or intern for IST.

Level IV

  • Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and 5 or more years of job-related experience.
