Software Engineer - III or IV GIS

Job Summary

DE GIS South Carolina is looking for a System Administrator/Infrastructure Analyst to join a team that develops, delivers, and supports applications for use in the Dominion Energy Enterprise Environment.  This position will have responsibilities for management and optimization of our server & web applications, databases, and desktop GIS infrastructure. The successful candidate will join two other Software Engineers that also perform system administration and infrastructure support and 5 software engineers that are engaged in software development and support.



Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience


Qualifications Include:


Enterprise System Management

  • Experience in application configuration of Windows 2016 Server
  • Web server (IIS)
  • Networking, Security and Virtualization
  • Load balancing and scaling for performance optimization and high availability
  • Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server


Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the following:

  • Esri Enterprise ArcGIS Platform Deployment and Administration
  • Schneider Electric’s ArcFM product suite


Basic Qualifications


Level of position will be determined based upon education and relevant work experience.

Software Engineer III & IV 

  • Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and 2 or more years of job-related experience or
  • An associate degree from an accredited university or college and 6 or more years of job-related experience or
  • A high school diploma or GED accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or one of the entities recognized by the U. S. Dept. of Education and 10 or more years of job-related experience or
  • Successful completion of a computer-related curriculum and at least 3 years of practical experience at Dominion Energy (Southern Energy Group) with part of the 3 years working as a co-op or intern for IST.
