Job Summary

Dominion Energy South Carolina has a Material Fuel Handling Technician opening at Cope Station located in Cope, SC.  Cope Station is a coal fire & natural gas facility.  This is an entry level position responsible for loading and unloading of fuel (coal), miscellaneous utility work at the station, maintenance and grading of the fuel (coal) pile. Performs heavy lifting and outside work in inclement weather and in a noisy, dusty environment.  There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge skills, and abilities.

Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

 

  • Minimum of 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Operating heavy equipment such as dozers and loaders and the ability to efficiently and effectively grade piles of materials (i.e. dirt, coal) preferred.
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting and outside work in inclement weather in a noisy, dusty environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate good physical condition to perform work duties safely.
  • Must be mechanically oriented.
  • Requires ability to work weekends and holidays.

Education Requirements

Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) is required.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Must have a valid driver's license with safe driving history.
