Job Summary
Dominion Energy Virginia seeks an Senior Engineer or Staff Engineer for the Clover, Virginia power station. This role includes supporting Safety, Environmental, Operations, Welding, Electrical, Technical, and Chemistry teams. Responsibilities involve equipment inspections, quality control, operational support, engineering calculations, analysis, research, and design. The candidate will work under supervision to develop engineering knowledge, demonstrate leadership, and ensure smooth operations. They will evaluate, select, adapt, and modify standard engineering techniques and coordinate projects to meet cost and time objectives.
In addition to the primary duties, the Engineer will be expected to collaborate with team members across various departments to foster a culture of continuous improvement. This could include conducting training sessions, mentoring junior staff, and participating in cross-functional meetings to share best practices and innovative solutions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Senior Engineer:
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles
• Skilled in advanced techniques and modification of theories, precepts, and practices
• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead
• Strong personal computer skills
• In-depth knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs
• Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills
Staff Engineer:
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Extensive knowledge of engineering theories, principles, and practices
• Skilled in advanced techniques and modification of theories, precepts, and practices
• Full knowledge of business/financial and contractual matters
• Recognized expert by other engineers and management in assigned area
• Provides expert technical advice to other engineers and management
• Strong planning and project management skills
• Strong technical and organizational leadership skills
Both Levels Require:
• Oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing)
• Effective decision-making skills
• Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices
• Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
• Ability to process information quickly and manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work effectively independently or in a team environment
• Computer skills and application of software programs (e.g., Matlab, Excel
Education Requirements
Engineer Education: Bachelor's in Engineering required.
• Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
• Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
• Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math, or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
• Hold or have previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.)
