We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the supervision of Training Specialists that provide training solutions for the DEV Operations Support group to ensure consistent application of Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) practices for Dominion Energy Virginia. 

 

Oversees the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training for employees across Dominion Energy Virginia to include, formal training programs, enrichment training, safety, and compliance training with a focus on Electric Distribution and Electric Transmission. Coordinates training development activities including resource allocation, project development timelines, estimating training development hours, and training implementation dates.  

 

Communicates with stakeholders and leadership regarding design, development and delivery of required training to ensure business unit customers receive appropriate knowledge to achieve results. Collaborates with Safety and Environmental departments to ensure alignment between training programs and safety and environmental regulations and policy. Collaborates with and visits business unit leadership that they support across the system on a regular basis. Keeps leadership informed of activities and expenditures. Performs benchmarking activities with other energy and non-industry training organizations, researches alternative approaches, and develops recommendations for improvement to existing training and business processes. 

 

Establishes individual performance and development goals, performs periodic appraisals, and provides ongoing coaching to training specialists. Ensures maintenance of training specialists’ qualifications, certification, and continuing education. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following: 

7+ years of relevant experience 

Knowledge of SAT (Systematic Approach to Training) and adult learning methodologies 

Ability to evaluate business needs and apply instructional design methodology to develop training 

Knowledge of the Electric Distribution and Electric Transmission industry preferred 

Demonstrated project management skills  

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills 

Effective leadership, coaching and communication (verbal and written) skills  

Ability to work successfully independently or in a collaborative environment  

Experience with any of the following software applications is preferred Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft PowerPoint, InDesign, and Articulate360 

Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations preferred 

Education Requirements

 

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:  

Bachelor 

Preferred Disciplines: Instructional Design, Education, Communications 

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred disciplines(s) listed above.
