Gas Emissions Consultant (Charleroi, PA; Bridgeport, WV; Richmond, VA)

Job Summary

This role is capable of independently performing difficult and complex work requiring thorough knowledge of EPA Emission Stack Testing Methods and must have significant experience with all aspects of an EPA Stack Testing program. Responsible for providing expert technical direction and advice for the continued development of the Emission Stack Testing Program. Responsible for developing and managing Stack Testing schedules. Responsible for writing reference method protocols and reports that meet all regulatory requirements. Independently performs technical evaluations, calculations, analysis and reports to support the Emission Stack Testing Program.  Incumbents are expected to provide technical expertise and leadership to solve complex problems and to manage multifaceted projects. Works independently and applies extensive and diversified knowledge and experience to resolving complex problems.  Requires significant experience as a technical lead as well as specialized certifications, education, knowledge or experience required by the work.

This position can be filled at the following office locations: Charleroi, PA; Bridgeport, WV; Richmond, VA.


Relocation can be provided to the successful candidate if eligible.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

  • Master's degree with at least 6+ years of experience in the natural gas field air emissions testing industry or a similar field OR
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 7+ years of experience in the natural gas field air emissions testing industry or a similar field OR
  • Associate's degree with at least 9+ years of experience in the natural gas field air emissions testing industry or a similar field OR
  • High school diploma or GED with at least 11+ years of experience in the natural gas field air emissions testing industry or a similar field


Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert in the field for conducting EPA Method Stack Testing as per requirements of 40 CFR Part 60
  • In-depth knowledge of EPA stack testing methods (1-4, 7e, 10, 19, 25a, 205, & 320)
  • Detail oriented to ensure all requirements of the testing program are implemented completely and on time
  • Expertise to review QA/QC Stack Test results to confirm all regulatory requirements are met
  • Ability to maintain objectivity to correct/address issues that may arise during Stack Testing and reporting
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Equally effective working independently or in a team environment
  • Proven decision making skills
  • Proficient oral and written communication (including technical writing) skills
  • Proficient in use of computer program applications
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and evaluation techniques
  • Ability to address issues applying analytical and abstract thinking
  • Ability to resolve problems and process information quickly

Preferred Certifications:

  • Qualified Source Test Individual (QSTI) for Groups 1, 2, 3 and 5.


Military Experience:

  • Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6 plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above.

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor , Disciplines: Preferred: Engineering Technology,Technical Studies , Other Education: Engineering Technology, Technical
