We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

The incumbent will provide supervision, guidance and support for administrative support services related to following DESC groups:

  • Environmental Compliance
  • Facilities Maintenance
  • Facilities Planning and Contract Services
  • Heavy Equipment Operations
  • Project Management
  • Real Estate and Forestry
  • Supply Chain Management

 

The incumbent will be responsible for the following.

  • Overseeing staffing and development of work force; developing plans, procedures and programs to meet specific staffing and training needs; assigning tasks and rotations; developing goals and performance measures and tracking performance of team members; communicating via check-ins and staff meetings; encouraging initiative and creativity; having difficult conversations when needed; keeping morale high; and administering human resource policies and procedures
  • Working effectively with colleagues in groups shown above, those in other departments and management
  • Responding to Electric rate case, Gas rate case, Electric RSA (Rate Stabilization Act), Gas RSA and other regulatory report requests such Affiliate Transactions, Brazos, Department of Revenue and so forth
  • Responding to audit requests as well as feedback requests in AuditBoard
  • Analyzing data to determine trends or issues and following through with communication, corrections, procedure updates, report creation or other uses of the results.
  • Researching and providing guidance for issues relating to accounting such as preparing journal entries, billing customers for work done by the Facilities Maintenance, Facilities Planning and Heavy Equipment Operations teams, accounting for real estate sales, real estate acquisitions, timber sales, wetlands mitigation banks, and so forth
  • Ensuring real estate and forestry legal documents are properly recorded and entered into Contracts, Licensing and Permits software
  • Preparing, tracking and updating O&M and capital budgets for Supply Chain and Facilities Management
  • Working in property records system to determine how property is classified (Electric Distribution, Electric Transmission, Power Generation, Gas, Non-Utility, etc.) and whether an item/project should be capitalized; writing capital workorders; tracking progress of workorders; entering completion reports and as-builts and resolving property accounting issues
  • Coordinating with IT on technology-related issues, updates, testing, etc., and communicating as needed with Facilities and Real Estate personnel
  • Providing storm support for department or company by Administrative Support team members
  • Maintaining a culture of supporting the Dominion Energy Core Values of Safety, Ethics, Excellence, Embracing Change and One Dominion Energy (teamwork with a shared mission and purpose)
  • Keeping management and supervisors informed of project progress, issues and challenges facing the teams
  • Managing Non-Dominion Energy Workers’ accesses for DESC Facilities and Real Estate Non-Supervisors such as Real Estate and Forestry
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Monitor performance metrics and generate reports for management review

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5+ years of extensive directly related experience in addition to an Accounting Bachelor's degree.

  • Effective project management skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills to include Excel, and preferably SAP and PowerPlan.
  • Ability to develop and analyze complex data and derive/communicate conclusions.
  • Ability to build and lead teams. 
  • Ability to have vision for the support team as well as the supported teams and develop the vision into actionable projects or initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and team members.
  • Ability to manage budgets, both O&M and capital.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required in accounting.
