Job Summary

Dominion Energy SC is hiring for a Power Supply Reliability Specialist I, II, III to join the Transmission Operation Planning team at the Dominion Energy Transmission Control Room in Cayce, South Carolina. This position requires working a rotating 12-hour shift. There is one position available which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates' education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.  

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):


 Power Supply Reliability Specialist I

0-2+ years of a combination of electric utility operations experience and control room related experience in a regulated environment. 
Must be able to pass the NERC exam at the Reliability Coordinator level.
 
Power Supply Reliability Specialist II

3+ years of a combination of electric utility operations experience and control room related experience in a regulated environment.  
Must be NERC certified at the Reliability Coordinator level.


Power Supply Reliability Specialist III

5+ years of a combination of electric utility operations experience and control room related experience in a regulated environment.
Must be able to demonstrate skills and abilities commensurate with the Power Supply Reliability Specialist III job description. 

Must be NERC certified at the Reliability Coordinator level.


 
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for all three levels:

 

Must be able to work independently and as a team member and be flexible in a changing environment.
Must possess the ability to work well with others and have good verbal and written communication skills. 
Must have basic computer knowledge and skills including Microsoft Office Suite and various tools utilized to conduct research and analysis.
Must have good knowledge of sound engineering principles. 
Must be able to demonstrate ability to perform basic modeling/studies.
Must have superior analytical, critical thinking, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
This position will perform the specific tasks required to provide the reliability functions for DESC and other areas as required by the North America Electric Reliability Corporation. Such tasks include studying the Bulk Electric System in real time and on a future basis (generally day ahead to two weeks ahead) to ensure reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System. 

Education Requirements

Education Level:

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor's in Engineering

Preferred: ABET accredited Engineering program

 

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Power Supply Reliability Specialist I

Ability to become NERC certified at the Reliability Coordinator level and trained to operate the Reliability Desk within 6 months of hire.

 

Power Supply Reliability Specialist II

NERC certified at the Reliability Coordinator level and trained to operate the Reliability Desk within 3 months of hire. 

 

Power Supply Reliability Specialist III

NERC certified at the Reliability Coordinator level and trained to operate the Reliability Desk within 3 months of hire.

Travel Up to 25%

Other Working Conditions

This position requires rotating 12-hour shift work.
