Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our IT Infrastructure Operations team, focusing on database monitoring and performance analysis. This internship offers hands-on experience with enterprise-level database systems and monitoring tools, providing valuable exposure to real-world IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor database performance using enterprise monitoring software tools , or native DB monitoring utilities.
- Generate and analyze daily/weekly performance reports.
- Collaborate with DBAs and system administrators to optimize database configurations.
- Document monitoring procedures and contribute to knowledge base articles.
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for database-related alerts.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
- Familiarity with SQL and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure or Coursework in database systems
- Exposure or Coursework with Linux/Windows server environments
Education Requirements
- Must be currently pursuing a 4-year Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Students should have an anticipated graduation date in 2027 or 2028.
