Job Summary

This role supports the Company's natural gas fuel procurement team in the areas of trading, logistics, and regulatory compliance through gas accounting, data analysis, actualization, and collaboration. This position offers a unique blend of technical, analytical, and strategic responsibilities in a fast-paced energy environment.

 

Specific duties include:
 

  • Track, allocate and balance daily fuel and fuel related costs using internal and external systems.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams such as Financial Accounting, Regulatory Accounting, and Gas Control.
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting, payment processing and customer invoices.
  • Calculates month end imbalances and cashouts.
  • Prepares month end reports and assists with month end gas accounting, billing closeout and regulatory reports.
  • Monitors Sarbanes-Oxley and FERC controls related to fuel activities
  • Provides backup support for daily LDC nominations on the EBB and coordinates scheduled quantities based on the amount of gas delivered on the applicable interstate pipeline.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Fuel Analyst I:    0 to 2 years of relevant experience.

Fuel Analyst II:   2+ years of relevant experience.  

Fuel Analyst III:  5+ years of relevant experience.   


Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
 

  • Working knowledge of business processes of the natural gas industry, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is preferred.
  • Good analytical skills, ability to review a variety of information and identify cost impact to the company.
  • Skilled in the use of a computer and related applications/programs.
  • Competent in use of office software such as Word, Excel, Access Power Bi and HTML or other web languages.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple project and priorities within specified deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal and external company contacts.
  • Previous work experience in the energy industry desired.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor or Master

Required: Bachelor for Fuel Analyst III level

Preferred Disciplines: Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
