We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

The incumbent will serve as team lead and will coordinate, guide and support the daily operations for administrative support services related to the following DESC groups:

  • Environmental Compliance
  • Facilities Maintenance
  • Facilities Planning and Contract Services
  • Heavy Equipment Operations
  • Project Management
  • Real Estate and Forestry
  • Supply Chain Management

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Assigning and delegating tasks to administrative team members

Identifying training needs and coordinating training sessions for team members

Working effectively with colleagues in groups shown above, those in other departments and management

Managing projects throughout project lifecycle and providing status reports to leadership

Preparing, tracking and monitoring O&M and capital budgets for the groups shown above

Coordinating with IT to resolve technology-related issues, supporting system updates and testing, and ensuring communication with the impacted teams as needed

Analyzing data to identify patterns, trends, or issues, and taking appropriate action through communication, process improvements, report development, or other strategic uses of the findings

Coordinating storm-related support efforts for the department or organization, ensuring Administrative Support team members are effectively mobilized and aligned to meet operational needs during weather events

Evaluating existing workflows, identifying inefficiencies and implementing strategic changes that enhance productivity and improve overall performance

Collaborating across departments to resolve issues and improve processes to deliver measurable results

Coordinating responses to internal and external audit inquiries, Electric rate cases, Gas rate cases, Electric RSA (Rate Stabilization Act), Gas RSA and other regulatory report requests

Conducting accounting research and offering guidance for issues related to accounting such as journal entry preparation, customer billing for services rendered by operational teams, and financial reporting for transactions (examples include real estate sales and acquisitions, timber revenue, and wetlands mitigation banks)

Utilizing the property records system to assess asset classifications (e.g., Electric Distribution, Transmission, Power Generation, Gas, Common & Non-Utility) and determining capitalization eligibility for items and projects. Includes preparing capital work orders, monitoring their progress, recording completion reports and as-built documentation, and resolving property accounting discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Associate Business Performance Analyst: 0-2 years or relevant experience in a directly related field.

Business Performance Analyst: 2-3+ years of relevant experience in directly related field. 

Senior Business Performance Analyst: 5-6+ years of relevant experience in directly related field. 

  • Demonstrated planning, time management, organizational and project management skills with the ability to facilitate and/or work on multiple project teams simultaneously. 
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making.
  • Effective analytical skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills to include Excel, and preferably Power BI, SAP and PowerPlan.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s): Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
