Job Summary

This position performs location of natural gas facilities, completes natural gas emergency response procedures and leak investigation/detection, and participates in repairs to damaged service lines and other third party damage using self-contained breathing apparatus equipment. Duties include but not limited to: safely drives company vehicle; installs leak repair clamps; repairs tracer wire; maintains truck inventory; and completes a variety of paperwork.


The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below.


• Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

•0 -12 months locating experience is required.

•Must have experience with common hand and power tools.

•Must have the ability to calibrate instruments and use self-contained breathing apparatus and squeeze-off equipment.

•Effective communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions is critical.

•Must be able to work independently and as a team member.

•Position requires extensive walking. 

•Availability for natural gas emergency response after normal working hours is required.

•Must reside within a 45 minute response time from the geographical center of the assigned area.

•Work is performed in various weather conditions with heavy lifting up to 70 lbs.



Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience:

•Good mechanical aptitude.

•The ability to demonstrate knowledge of safety procedures.

•Bilingual (Spanish) candidates preferred.

Education Requirements

Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) is required.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving history and be able to obtain a Commercial Drivers License within 6 months of employment
