Job Summary

Selected student(s) will gain utility knowledge in the following areas based upon the student’s area of interest and business need including but not limited to: assisting engineers, engineering and GIS Specialists and management with various job duties to meet current and future company initiatives and regulatory requirements in project engineering, system planning and GIS Systems; creating CADD and/or GIS drawings of proposed pipelines and stations; researching information for system upgrades; permitting new gas mains; writing procedures; creating and populating spreadsheets and databases; performing cost estimates for construction projects, and utilizing GIS to map gas facilities; supporting and communication with marketing department personnel; supporting pipeline integrity program; and performing field preview/verification of construction installations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Must have strong computer knowledge and skills; must have good oral and written communication skills; must be able to work independently and as a team; must be able to periodically travel and work outside normal business hours; must live within a reasonable commuting distance from assigned work location and overnight travels; must be able to move about freely and perform field work; must be able to demonstrate ability to learn basic engineering fundamentals.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Candidates must be in the process of obtaining an Associate degree in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited college or university (preferably in Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Associate in Engineering, or Mechanical Drafting Technology).
  • Must have a valid driver's license. 

Education Requirements

Candidates must be in the process of obtaining an Associate degree in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.5 (preferably in Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Associate in Engineering, or Mechanical Drafting Technology).
