Job Summary
This role coordinates electric distribution project design and designer training activities in a designated area. Monitors design workload and assigns new projects accordingly. Provides design and project management direction to designers, craft and contractor personnel. Assists with training requirements for new employees and monitors training progression. Monitors new and developing processes and assures area of responsibility is current by utilizing current approved best practices. Acts as liaison between Construction, Operations, Design and other departments. Provides mentoring, guidance, and relevant project assignments for less experienced designers. Provides feedback to Supervisor for performance assessments. Capable of performing all Customer Projects Designer III duties. Resolves customer inquiries and complaints related to design, right of way and cost issues. Has extensive experience in complex design, and ensures projects are in compliance with company policies, through mentoring, project reviews and project approval. Prepares and designs complex construction projects and assists Customer Projects Designers with complex design and cost estimates. Typically assumes supervisor's role in his or her absence. Fills patrol manager or patroller role during emergency service restoration as needed. Capable of utilizing electronic damage assessment tool to provide data for restoration analysis and customer communication.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
- Required: 4+ years of directly related experience with a preferred Bachelor degree (Or 6+ years of directly related experience with an Associate degree; Or 8+ years of directly related experience with a high school diploma or equivalent degree
- Required: Graduate of the customer projects designer development program.
- Full knowledge of distribution facility design requirements.
- Working knowledge of mainframe/personal computer applications, extensive design requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Skills: leadership, interpersonal, decision making, effective verbal and written communication, extensive design procedures, scheduling/time management, project management, negotiation, problem solving.
- Abilities: adaptability, deal effectively with customers, make effective decisions, physical attributes to perform essential functions - walking, climbing, stooping, bending and prolonged standing.
Education Requirements
Education Level: Associate Degree Preferred or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education
