Job Summary

 

Position Purpose:  To provide experience and overall understanding of Customer Experience in managing new customer additions, key account management and business development. This role is particularly important to Customer Experience as roles develop throughout the organization and we experience internal employee turnover due to personal growth opportunities and pending department retirements.


• This intern position will report to the Manager Gas Operations – New Customer Additions and Key Accounts.
• The position will work with the NCA team to establish gas service to residential, commercial and small industrial applicants by taking them through the various stages of design and construction while assisting in providing customer communication and support throughout the process. 
• In this role, the intern will prepare cost estimates and contracts associated with pipeline extensions, new services and service relocations when required to provide applicant’s gas service. 
• The intern will work with Key Account Managers and Business Development representatives to address existing large account service issues, contract negotiations, as well as growth opportunities.
• The intern will have the opportunity to accompany Account Managers as they meet with customers to address service and contract discussions.
• In addition, this position will assist in researching and implementing a customer relationship management system which will allow DEO to document and manage key accounts and business development activity.

 

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage gas service applicants through the application and service process.
• Work with internal partners in Design, Environmental Services, Land Services and Construction to establish new service to applicants through mainline extensions and service installations.
• Assist Key Account Managers to address customer service issues, contract negotiations and existing account growth opportunities.
• Participate in business development/economic development projects to secure new large load growth opportunities.
• Assist in researching and implementing a key account and business development Customer Relationship Management System.
 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
  • Looking for a candidate who is a rising sophomore, junior or senior.
  • Customer service/customer interaction experience desired.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel computer skills are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills and be a self-starter required.
Education Requirements
  • Pursuit of Bachelor degree in Business/Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Looking for a candidate who is a rising sophomore, junior or senior.
