Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst

Job Summary

There is one position available that will be filled at either the Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst level, commensurate with the selected candidates'  skills and abilities.

 

Dominion Energy Ohio is looking for a Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst to join the team in Cleveland, OH or Akron, OH. This role supports the development and maintenance of the company's consolidated budget/forecast as well as corporate strategy. This position works very closely as an advisory to our business partners in Dominion Energy Ohio, and helps to act as a steward of company funds for our customers and shareholders.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Financial Analyst:

  • Assists in development and monitoring of corporate strategy.
  • Supports budget development and consolidation process to ensure timeliness and financial accuracy.
  • Review monthly results and compare and analyze variances from plan.
  • Communicate with operational areas to understand impact of variances on financial results.
  • Supports review, update and communication of cost of capital utilized for business and investment decisions.
  • Supports efforts to respond to requests for special studies on competitors, industry trends, etc.
  • Maintain leadership reports and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies & procedures;
  • Act as a liaison with various departments (Regulatory, Accounting, Corporate Planning, etc.) as related to various budgets and forecast.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned, including special projects.

Senior Financial Analyst:

  • Develops and leads financial analysis.
  • Works with senior management to develop and monitor corporate strategy. 
  • Supports budget development and consolidation process. 
  • Prepares studies through reports on competitors, industry trends, etc. 
  • Leads the development, maintenance and analysis of financial plans, budgets and forecasts for the capital expenditure programs. 
  • Supports preparation of capital expenditure regulatory filings and data requests. 
  • Communicate effectively with operational areas to understand impact of variance on financial results. 
  • Ensures compliance with regulations, policies & procedures; act as a liaison with various departments (General Accounting, Tax, Corporate Planning, F&BS, Operations, Regulatory, and Fixed Asset Accounting) for capital budget activities. 
  • Conducts economic analyses and presentation preparation in support of investment decisions. 
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Financial Analyst

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

  • 3+ years work related experience with a Bachelor's degree OR
  • 5+ years work related experience with an Associate's degree OR
  • 7+ years work related experience with a High School Diploma or GED

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge: Knowledge of financial management and analysis, utility and/or relevant industry, accounting standards and practices. Some expertise in consolidated financial planning and analysis, capital allocation, project financial analysis, M&A analysis, due diligence process, understanding of accounting, tax and financing principles. Knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Skills: leadership, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication. Teaming, analytical and customer focus skills.
  • Abilities: Aptitude for continuous learning & Ability to work under tight deadlines.

 

Senior Financial Analyst

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

  • 5 years directly related experience with a Bachelor's degree OR
  • 7 years directly related experience with an Associate's degree OR
  • 9 years directly related experience with a High School Diploma or GED 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in financial management and analysis, utility and/or relevant industry, accounting standards and practices.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
  • Teaming, analytical and customer focus skills.
  • Requires ability to work under limited supervision and direction.
  • Demonstrated expertise in consolidated financial planning and analysis, capital allocation, project financial analysis, M&A analysis, due diligence process, understanding of accounting, tax and financing principles.
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Aptitude for continuous learning.
  • Prior use of SAP or Business Warehouse preferred.

  • Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined under Minimum Requirements.
