Dominion Energy Non-Union Benefits

Medical and Flexible Accounts

Dominion Energy employees can choose one of three different medical plans (A, B or C) from Anthem.  These plans offer coverage for you, your spouse, children under 26 (natural, adopted, step or foster), children over 26 that cannot support themselves due to a physical or mental disability, or a person who qualifies as a domestic partner, or a legal ward under the age of 26. 

Depending on which medical plan option you choose (A, B or C), you also have the option of electing to participate in the company’s Healthcare and/or Day Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA's) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA's).

Dental & Vision Coverage

The dental plan is offered by MetLife and covers benefits for major services and orthodontia for adults and dependent children. Preventive care is covered at 100%. Vision plans are offered by EyeMed and cover vision exams, eyeglasses and contact lenses and also provides a discount on LASIK procedures. 

 

Vacation and Sick Leave

New employees accrue 3 weeks of vacation per year (120 hours). 30 hours are accrued at the start of each quarter and the employee can borrow up to 30 hours from the previous or following quarter. 40 hours can also be carried over into the following year.

Upon date of hire, employees will be granted 26 weeks of paid sick time (13 weeks for part-time employees). This time is distributed between 100% and 70% of base pay according to the employee’s completed years of service. 

Dominion Energy SC and NC (DESC and DENC-Gas) Non-Union Employee Benefits

Medical Plan

DESC and DENC-Gas’ medical plan includes vision and prescription coverage from the BlueCross BlueShield network of medical providers for in-network care. Employees can choose coverage for: employee only; employee and spouse (if the spouse doesn’t have access to their own active or retiree employer-sponsored medical coverage); employee and children; or employee and  family. Employees pay for medical coverage on a pre-tax basis.
Children up to age 26 may be covered.

Insurance Coverage Options

Dominion Energy SC/NC provides each full-time employee life insurance equivalent to approximately one times their base salary at no cost to the employee. Employees may elect to purchase supplemental life insurance up to six times their base salary. 

 We provide each employee Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance equivalent to approximately one times their base salary at no cost to the employee. Employees may elect to purchase supplemental AD&D insurance up to two times their base salary.

Employees may elect to purchase life insurance to cover their spouse at $10,000, $20,000, $50,000 and $100,000 levels and/or dependent life insurance of $10,000 per child up to age 23.

Holidays and Paid Time-Off

Dominion Energy SC/NC observes 12 paid holidays a year; 11 are designated days, and one is a personal holiday to be taken at a time scheduled with the employee’s supervisor.

Paid Time Off (PTO) - Vacation, personal time and sick time are combined into one “bank” of PTO. New employees are eligible to use PTO immediately upon hire. PTO allowances increase at 6, 14 and 22 years of service.

Bereavement leave, military leave and jury duty are not part of PTO and are administered under separate policies.
