Nuclear Quality Specialist II or III

Job Summary

The Quality Inspection Coordinator (QIC) (filled as Nuclear Quality Specialist II or II position) is responsible for administration of the Quality Control (QC) Inspection Program at Surry Power Station.  The Quality Inspection Coordinator (QIC) is responsible for the training, qualifying, and re-certifying of Dominion Energy-Virginia QC inspection personnel.  This is performed in accordance with DOM-QA-1, Dominion Nuclear Facility Quality Assurance Program Description Topical Report and VPAP-1001, Quality Control (QC) Inspection Program.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Quality Specialist II 

• Minimum of 2 years experience in nuclear power or quality control/assurance with a commensurate level of knowledge of nuclear/quality assurance processes and procedures.

• Individual shall have one year experience in a Nuclear Power Plant and one year experience

performing quality verification activities.

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred in Engineering, Math/Science

or Technology.

• Good investigation and communication skills

• Ability to work independently on moderately complex to complex quality related activities.

• Demonstrates working knowledge of nuclear quality assurance codes and standards as they

apply to engineering, plant systems and components, administrative controls, and work

processes.

Possess the qualifications to become certified as a Level III Quality Control Inspector in at least one discipline

 

Quality Specialist III 

• Minimum of 5 years nuclear quality control/assurance related experience such as nuclear plant design or operations with a commensurate level of knowledge of nuclear processes and procedures.

• Individual shall have one year experience in a Nuclear Power Plant and one year experience

performing quality verification activities.

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred in Engineering, Math/Science

or Technology.

• Good communication, investigation, and leadership skills.

• Demonstrates full and comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance requirements and

understanding of engineering concepts, plant systems and components, administrative controls and

work control processes.

Possess the qualifications to become certified as a Level III Quality Control Inspector in more than one discipline.

 

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associate , Disciplines: Preferred: Technology,Engineering,Math/Science , Other Education: Technical
