Associate Customer Field Representative

Job Summary

This is an entry level position, under direct supervision, responsible for reviewing account information to determine disconnect of service, extension of service, customer change accounts, and final bill orders; performs Automated Read Only Program (AROP).

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

0-2 years experience in customer service or related field. Must be able to demonstrate basic knowledge and skills in customer service and credit/collections; must have basic computer knowledge and skills; must be able to use tools such as a meter key and adjustable wrench; must have basic troubleshooting, problem-solving , and mathematical skills for reviewing accounts; must have a basic ability to read maps, navigate in various territories, and retain knowledge of company's credit policies, North Carolina Utility Commision rules and regulations; must have basic verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with customers in an effective and professional manner; must have a basic knowledge of the assigned area and surrounding town must be able to effectively read gas meters, and properly research and record meter and account information on a computer; must be able to work independently and as a team member; must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; must be able to frequently travel to customers' premises, where encounters with customers or dogs and other animals may occur; must be able to balance and prioritize workload based upon time of year.

Education Requirements

Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) is required.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Valid driver's license with safe driving record and at least 1 year of driving experience
Working Conditions
Outdoors 26-50%
Office Work Environment 26-50%
