Job Summary

Negotiates, awards, implements and manages moderately complex agreements for materials, equipment, services, rentals, and/or leases. Identifies, solicits, evaluates supplier quotations, proposals, and product descriptions and issues purchase agreements. Analyzes supplier standard item and/or service proposals for price, performance, capability, quality, delivery, compliance with order terms, and consistency with sourcing strategy. Supports identification and implementation of cost improvements for purchased materials and/or services. Communicates with field and project personnel to evaluate compliance with agreements. Resolves problems regarding material delivery, price discrepancies, quality issues, invoice discrepancies, and/or adjustments.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • 3+ years related experience.
  • Knowledge of procurement practices, procedures and policies.
  • Working knowledge of business and contract law.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of MRP, ERP, and purchasing and logistics systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of materials delivery and/or services fulfillment processes.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates effective influence, persuasion, negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Project management skills (preferred)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Forecasting and trend analysis skills.
  • Value and cost analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to anticipate, understand, and respond to customer needs.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor , Other Education: Business
