Job Summary
A successful candidate will join the Strategic Data Integration team to assist with the management and development of the PI system and Data Governance. This role is the senior level position in the Engineer series. This includes senior to technical expert engineers, able to perform difficult, complex, and time sensitive engineering work in a fast pace environment requiring sense of urgency, innovative thinking, ability to prioritize work, complete multiple engineering requests simultaneously, and thorough knowledge of data management, data governance, data engineering, the OSIsoft PI System, and .NET software development. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing regular maintenance of the PI system to ensure data reliability.
- Develop applications to automate maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications used to maintain the PI system.
- Develop and build data analytics reports, notifications, dashboards, and more using a mix of PI Products (e.g. PI AF, PI Analytics, PI Notifications, PI Vision), third party software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and custom built solutions.
- Develop tools and procedures to ensure Data Governance standards are met throughout the data lifecycle.
- Work closely with other teams within ET to understand their data needs and develop solutions to meet them.
- Cultivate relationships with PI userbase to help promote and teach PI and other data tools and best practices.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
5+ years of directly related engineering experience
Experience with, and in-depth knowledge of, the OSIsoft PI system
Strong .NET (C#) development experience
Strong oral and written communication skills (including technical writing)
Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks
Strong planning, organization, and project management skills
Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
Proven decision making skills.
Equally effective working independently or in team environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
Experience in other programming languages including Python and Javascript
Experience with Python’s Pandas and Numpy libraries
Experience with web development and common frameworks including Bootstrap and Vue.js
Experience with relational databases
Experience with SCADA systems
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined
REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA:
For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program and a postgraduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.
