Business Development Manager

Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the development of potential future power stations utilizing the latest advanced technologies to create clean, sustainable power generation solutions and achieve the company’s net-zero carbon clean energy goals.

The Business Development Manager is a lead role in the site evaluation and selection process, which includes determining the appropriate site characteristics and design parameters based on the various advanced designs under consideration. Coordination with multiple internal groups, such as real estate, power generation operations, engineering and environmental services will be required to evaluate potential siting options with a consideration for the site layout, engineering criteria, environmental criteria, and other considerations.

Additional functions include supporting and pursuing growth strategies and opportunities, leading the evaluation and due diligence activities, and participating in negotiations for prospective generation development opportunities.

Additional functions include supporting the evaluation of advanced technologies and the development of supporting commercial agreements, including potential consortium agreements, financial commitments, applications for potential federal funding, and other such items. Engage with external advanced technology developers to perform technology assessments and to make recommendations based on the evaluation criteria. This involves the coordination with internal corporate entities to support communications and legislative strategies and the interaction with external stakeholders, including governmental and non-governmental organizations to promote the successful deployment of these power generation solutions.

Other supporting roles include the development of required inputs for economic development analyses and coordination with strategic planning, and financial planning.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required (engineering, project management, project development or other similar experience).
  • Knowledge of the electric power production business, including the design and operation of nuclear power generation facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in analytical, technical, and project management responsibilities including some leadership responsibilities.
  • Knowledgeable of fast-moving developments in power generation technology, including advanced nuclear technologies.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities (oral/written/presentation/interpersonal) to drive results in a team environment under minimal direction with internal and external customers. Ability to analyze information and make strategic business decisions.
  • Strong organizational, risk analysis, and project planning/execution skills are also required. Must be able to effectively prioritize multiple key project efforts.
  • Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or more rounds to one full year of qualifications. The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications.
  • Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined.
