Job Summary

North Anna Power Station is seeking an entry level Instrument Technician for Security I&C.

Security Instrument & Controls Maintenance Technician, assisting with the inspection, testing, service, repair, calibration, and installation of various security equipment (i.e. weapons detection, perimeter intrusion detection, magnetic switches and locks, x-ray scanners, metal detectors, and access card readers).  Installing indicating, recording and automatic control instruments such as flow meters, pressure gauges, thermometers, regulators, and similar components in a power station.  Using electrical troubleshooting skills, portable test equipment (digital multi-meters, etc) and analysis of computer software to assist in troubleshooting and locating cause of defective performance equipment.  Report findings to supervisor, and replace component parts as required.  Use portable pressure gauges, manometer, and other similar test equipment.  Perform preventative maintenance.  Test flue gas, read meters and record data as required.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Associate Degree (or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience) and 0-2 years experience in a related technical field  (instrumentation, electronics, etc.)

 

Candidates with the following experience are highly preferred:

Experience with the inspection, testing, service, repair, calibration, and installation of various security equipment (i.e. weapons detection, perimeter intrusion detection, magnetic switches and locks, x-ray scanners, metal detectors, and access card readers)

 

 

Education Requirements

Associate Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education
