Supervisor, Natural Gas Technical Training & Development

Job Summary

Work Location: Hudson, Ohio Technical Training Center 

Job Summary
This role provides direct supervision to instructors and training specialists responsible for providing training solutions for the Gas groups. This role is responsible for overseeing the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training for gas and technical services employees across Dominion Energy including training programs, enrichment training, and on-line training.  Incumbent coordinates training development and delivery activities including timelines, estimated development hours, and training implementation dates, coordinates with third parties to design, plan and deliver required training to achieve results. This position may also oversee Operator Qualification program compliance and personnel. This role may act as a project lead or project manager.  Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Work location for this role is Ohio Technical Training Center.

Additional responsibilities may include:
•    Evaluating and selecting technologies to enhance technical training
•    Facilitate 3rd party training opportunities.
•    Coordinate resources from within Technical Services to provide technical training.
•    Document training to ensure compliance.
•    Provide training and operator qualification reports and statistics to leadership

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years directly related experience or
•    Associates Degree and 7+ years of directly related experience or
•    High school diploma and 9+ years of directly related experience
•    Military: Must have a military rank of E-5 or higher plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above.
•    Directly Related Experience includes: Supervisory experience, pipeline operations and maintenance (transmission or distribution), technical training, adult education, pipeline safety and compliance, construction and inspection, on-the-job trainer, project management/project lead or instructional design.  
•    Skills:  Leadership and coaching, project management/project lead, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication, problem-solving, time management, strong computer skills.
•    Abilities:  Evaluate business needs and apply instructional design theory to develop training.
•    Physical attributes to perform essential function of the job: walking, climbing, stooping, bending and prolonged standing.
•    Must have valid driver's license and be able to drive.

Preferred Qualifications (meets minimum qualifications plus): 
•    3+ years Supervisory experience in natural gas distribution/transmission pipeline operations.
•    Ability to read and interpret pipeline safety regulations
•    Experience with integrity management implementation, pipeline or station design, operator qualification
.    Utility experience 

Education Requirements


Associate's Degree

High School /GED

Military Must have a military rank of E-5 or higher plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above
