Supervisor-Power Generation Operations & Maintenance

Job Summary

The successful supervisor candidate will direct the activities of a production team at the Greensville County Power Station and be able to perform the duties noted below in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, codes, and regulatory requirements:


Perform general leadership and administrative duties including, but not limited to, business plan adherence, employee performance reviews, safety awareness, training and continuous improvement programs;

Direct maintenance crews including hiring, training, motivating, and prioritizing work;

Give appropriate input during the development of operating and capital budgets;

Oversee inventory management and procurement activities pertaining to crew responsibilities;

Manage and provide leadership to the production and production support sections of Greensville County Power Station to provide reliable, efficient, and economical electrical service to our customers, in a safe and socially responsible manner;

Manage and coordinate the daily and outage activities of a crew by effectively using staffing, equipment and supplies, to ensure optimal availability;

Set and communicate standards of performance, behavior and professionalism;

Ensure consistent administration of union contract and all company policies and procedures;

Oversee development and maintenance of policies, preventive and corrective maintenance procedures, condition-based maintenance programs, bill of materials, equipment identification methods, emergency plans, etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

At least 5 years of fossil power station operating and/or maintenance experience is required. Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications. A Masters Degree can count as one year experience.
 

Preferred (If you meet one or more of the following preferences, be sure to include them in your resume.):

Journeyman level experience as an Electrician, Mechanic, Welder or Instrument & Controls Technician;

Experience/knowledge of fossil power plant operations and/or maintenance;

Operations experience

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associate , Bachelor , Other Education: Engineering, Technical
