Job Summary

BHE GT&S has an opening within Supply Chain for a Materials Specialist or Sr. Materials Specialist , commensurate with the selected candidate's skills.

 

 

  • Evaluates and processes material requisitions and reservations, to ensure material and required documentation are available when needed.
  • Analyzes material usage patterns for planned and stocked items, to ensure cost effective and adequate materials are available in a timely manner.
  • Assists in resolving supply chain issues.
  • Assists in planning and implementation of sourcing initiatives.
  • Analyzes surplus and obsolete materials, and acts to minimize stocking levels.
  • Provides inventory management support.
  • Develops and maintains material master.
  • Utilizes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to optimize supply chain management.
  • Leads implementation of sourcing initiatives.
  • Prepares and monitors inventory forecasts.
  • Tracks and identifies material and vendor stocking requirements.
  • Analyzes inventory methods of control, reduction, classification, usage, and other development techniques.
  • Assists with development and implementation of warehousing strategies. 
  • Provide SAP training to warehouse workers and warehouse clerks.
  • Conduct site inventory audits, fulfill FERX, and SOX requirements.
  • Maintain and analyze inventory metrics.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experiences (Minimum Requirements)

Required for Materials Specialist:

4-6 years related work experience.

Required for Sr. Materials Specialist:

6 - 8 years related work experience.


Knowledge of materials management, procurement processes, and inventory control.
Knowledge of client groups, commodities, and specialties.
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, as well as organizational skills. 
Value and cost analysis skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and to meet deadlines, as well as the a
bility to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and expectations.
Ability to process information quickly and accurately, as well as excellent critical thinking skills to support quality decision making.  
Advanced proficiency with navigation and use of Microsoft Excel.
Working knowledge of material contract law.
Working knowledge of environmental, government, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with industry standards and codes for equipment and materials.
Knowledge of inventory analysis techniques, including RUSL analysis and trending of material usage patterns.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Problem solving, analytical, forecasting, trend analysis, and value and cost analysis skills.
Customer service orientation. 
Ability to read and use vendor manuals, drawings, equipment and material codes, and standards.
Results orientation.
 
Ability to work in a team environment.

 

 

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
