Job Summary

BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity in our Interstate Marketing group for an Interstate Marketing Manager. In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for generating revenue, through sales of existing and new natural gas transportation and storage services
  • Develop, promote and direct marketing programs and service activities among existing and potential customers
  • Maintain customer relationships
  • Develop and maintain awareness of competitor activities and customer needs.
  • Collect regulatory and market data, analyzes trends, and identifies impact within market area
  • Identify new capital investment projects and other profitable business opportunities.
  • Design service proposals and negotiate service agreements
  • Be responsible for developing, maintaining and tracking customer contracts and associated revenue


Where assigned to manage market activities:

  • Recruit new customers for unsold, turned back or posted capacity.
  • Administer capacity posting, award and contracting processes, including evaluation of bids, pursuant to applicable regulations and tariff provisions.
  • Coordinate monthly requests for fuel waivers with System Optimization team.
  • Maintains a database of customer information, contract extensions and expirations

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum seven years' related experience, including five years in natural gas marketing, supply, trading, business development or pipeline operations


Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of marketing, economic and finance principles
  • Knowledge of regulations governing transmission sales and service
  • Knowledge of BHE GT&S' transmission and storage services and tariff
  • Knowledge of BHE GT&S' pipeline competitors and their service offerings
  • Familiarity with relevant BHE GT&S facilities and competitors within market area
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to speak persuasively, negotiate and develop rapport
  • Ability to define and analyze problems, collect data, and draw conclusions
  • Ability to write speeches, draft agreements and prepare letters and reports
  • Ability to plan and organize work schedule independently
  • Ability to formulate and execute business strategies
  • Basic understanding of commodities and financial trading, including spreads, hedging, derivatives, basis, and origination

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor


Preferred: Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Marketing
