Job Summary

BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity in our Interstate Marketing group for an Interstate Marketing Manager.   In this role you will be: 

  • Responsible for generating revenue, through sales of existing and new natural gas transportation and storage services.
  • This role develops, promotes and directs marketing programs and service activities among existing and potential customers.
  • Maintains customer relationships.
  • Develops and maintains awareness of competitor activities and customer needs.
  • Collects regulatory and market data, analyzes trends, and identifies impact within market area.
  • May identify new capital investment projects and other profitable business opportunities.
  • Designs service proposals, negotiates service agreements and drafts agreements and contracts.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and tracking customer contracts and the associated revenue of each.

 

Where assigned to manage market activities, also:

  • Recruits new customers for unsold, turned back or posted capacity.
  • Administers capacity posting, award and contracting processes, including evaluation of bids, pursuant to applicable regulations and tariff provisions.
  • Approves or denies customer requests for discounted rates.
  • Coordinates monthly requests for fuel waivers with System Optimization team.
  • Maintains a database of contract extensions and expirations

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

  • Minimum of seven years' related experience, including at least five years in natural gas marketing, supply or pipeline operations.

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of marketing, economic and finance principles.
  • Knowledge of regulations governing transmission sales and service.
  • Knowledge of BHE GT&S' transmission and storage services and tariff.
  • Knowledge of BHE GT&S' pipeline competitors and their service offerings.
  • Familiarity with relevant BHE GT&S facilities and competitors within market area.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to speak persuasively, negotiate and develop rapport.
  • Ability to define and analyze problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to write speeches, draft agreements and prepare letters and reports.
  • Ability to plan and organize work schedule independently.
  • Where assigned to manage 'short term' marketing activities, also:
    • Ability to formulate and execute business strategies.
    • Basic understanding of commodities and financial trading, including spreads, hedging, derivatives, basis, and origination

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor , Disciplines: Preferred: Business,Economics,Engineering,Marketing , Other Education: Business, Economics, Engineering, Marketing
