Job Summary

BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity in our Commercial Services group for an Interstate Marketing Manager.   In this role you will be: 


  • Responsible for helping manage the day to day activities related to the Commercial Business on BHE GT&S’ Cove Point Pipeline and LNG Terminal.
  • Assist in generating revenue through sales of existing and new natural gas transportation and storage services.
  • Maintains customer relationships.
  • Develops and maintains awareness of competitor activities and customer needs.
  • Collects regulatory and market data, analyzes trends, and identifies impact within market area.
  • Design service proposals, negotiate service agreements, and drafts agreements and contracts.


Where assigned to manage LNG activities, also:

  • Working across multiple internal groups to schedule and track customer volumes and usage on both the pipeline and at the LNG Terminal.
  • Engages with LNG customers to ensure compliance with Tariff and contracts, as well as evaluation and response to business opportunities.
  • Ad-HOC spreadsheet analysis related to customer and internal requests.

Where assigned to manage market activities, also:

  • Recruits new customers for unsold, turned back or posted capacity.
  • May identify new capital investment projects and other profitable business opportunities.
  • This role helps develop, promote, and direct new services activities among existing and potential customers.
  • Maintains a database of contract extensions and expirations

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

  • Minimum of seven years’ related experience, with at least two years of experience working in the natural gas or LNG industry in the one of the following fields:  Marketing, Finance, Regulatory and Rates, Gas Supply.
  • Knowledge of marketing, economic or finance principles.
  • Knowledge of finance and rates
  • Knowledge of regulations governing transmission sales and service.
  • Familiarity with relevant BHE GT&S pipeline or LNG facilities and ability to interpret Tariff and bilateral contracts.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to speak persuasively, negotiate and develop rapport.
  • Ability to define and analyze problems, collect data and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to write speeches, draft agreements and prepare letters and reports.
  • Ability to plan and organize work schedule independently.
  • Where assigned to manage marketing activities, also:
    • Ability to formulate and execute business strategies.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor , Disciplines: Preferred: Business,Economics,Engineering,Marketing , Other Education: Business, Economics, Engineering, Marketing
