Job Summary

The Gas Measurement Technician performs all duties related to natural gas measurement and regulation.  Install, operate, calibrate, test, troubleshoot and repair gas measurement and regulation equipment. Install, test and maintain electrical equipment (Electronic Flow Measurement, Remote Telemetry Units, AC/DC circuits, etc.). Obtain readings, analysis and notifications of problems concerning data pertaining to cathodic protection. Ensure proper operation of system within state and federal compliance guidelines. Prepare and maintain records and reports.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned..

This opportunity reports to our Greystone office in Columbia, SC but primarily supports the Summerville, SC area.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years performing all duties related to natural gas measurement and regulation such as:
    • Install, operate, calibrate, test, troubleshoot and repair gas measurement and regulation equipment.
    • Install, test and maintain electrical equipment (Electronic Flow Measurement, Remote Telemetry Units, AC/DC circuits, etc.).
    • Obtain readings, analysis and notifications of problems concerning data pertaining to cathodic protection.
    • Ensure proper operation of system within state and federal compliance guidelines.
    • Prepare and maintain records and reports.

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Instrumentation and controls experience.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot various electronic and pneumatic devices such as flow controlling and regulating equipment, orifice and pressure gauges, transducers, etc.
  • Ability to monitor pipeline pressures
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to operate various equipment and tools.
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect and analyze data and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.


Other related prefered experience:

  • Field or technical gas experience
