Job Summary

Enterprise Administrator

  • Perform moderate to complex development and support services for the IT Enterprise infrastructure. Ensures operability, capacity, and reliability in the enterprise environment.  Responsibilities include operating system and application software installations and upgrades, backup and recovery administration, adding/deleting users or peripheral equipment, troubleshooting system and application issues. 
  • Provides technical recommendations for information systems operations network environments. Implements modifications to increase system capacity. Compiles records and reports concerning production, machine operations and maintenance. May advise on workflow plans, methods, and procedures analysis. Analyzes the results of performance and systems management software and recommends changes to improve processing and utilization. 
  • Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Interfaces with the user community to understand their security needs and implements procedures to accommodate them. Conducts accurate evaluation of the level of security required. 
  • Acts as a project work team or group leader on moderate to complex projects. Errors may cause significant disruption to operations, or major costs.


Sr. Level will also:

  • Monitors and responds to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems using a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Provides primary interface with vendor support service groups or provides internal analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. 
  • Performs research and makes recommendations for network software and hardware. 
  • Provides guidance and training for less experienced technicians. 
  • Provides documentation for the support of information technology processes and procedures. 
  • Develops programs to support application and system operations. 
  • Provides technical input to assist in development of project planning. 
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. 
  • Guides and advises less experienced less-experienced group members.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

NOTE:  A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater can be considered towards one year of qualification.

Required for Enterprise Administrator:

5+ years directly related experience demonstrating excellent understanding of:

Required for Sr. Enterprise Administrator:

7+ years directly related experience demonstrating an expert understanding of:

  • Windows operating systems and enterprise environments
  • Virtual server and workstation technology
  • Relational database technology
  • Web environments
  • Electronic mail systems
  • Cyber security tasks: Patching, AV, Group Policy, etc.
  • Internet Protocol-based networks
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. 
  • Availability for periodic on-call responsibilities.
